Lesson Plans for September 25-29

8th Grade English

Monday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: Mindset Monday–What does failure mean to you? Have you ever felt like a failure? How did you cope?
  • If you have not already, submit your Word Study List 2 Chart in Classroom. Go to Wednesday, September 20, to turn it in.
  • Get a sheet with a prefix/suffix web on front and back and one sheet with a root tree front/back. Using the prefixes, suffixes, and roots from Word Study List 2, complete the webs and trees. Turn in completed worksheets to the tray for your class period.
  • If you have not already done so, go to NoRedInk to complete the two pathways I previously assigned.

Tuesday

  • Respond to the following prompt in your online journal: Traveling Tuesday–If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why would you go there?
  • Work on vocabulary assignments from yesterday.

Wednesday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: Would You Rather Wednesday–Would you rather be a tiny person no taller than a few inches or a giant person over nine feet tall? Explain why.
  • Finish all word study assignments.  What is not finished is homework.

Thursday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  Thought-provoking Thursday–Study the infographic on Sleep Needs. How are your sleeping habits affecting you personally?  How could the information on this graphic help you to improve your sleeping habits?  Any other thoughts?
  • Catch up on our English notebooks and add review notes on parts of speech and parts of a sentence.

Friday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  Free write Friday–Write about anything you want as long as it is appropriate and you don’t mind if I read it.
  • Finish all assigned work on No Red Ink.
