Monday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: “Mindset Monday”–Click on the image linked below.  What message does the image convey to you? How can you apply this message to our goal-setting process?
  • Complete a goal-setting chart based on your brainstorming from Friday.
  • How are you going to track your progress?

Tuesday

  • Respond to the following prompt in your Google daily journal–Title:  “Talk to me Tuesday”–What is ONE THING that not many people know about you?
  • Paste vocabulary notes into English notebook.
  • Finish assignment from last week–homework if necessary.

Wednesday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  “Would You Rather Wednesday”–Would you rather walk through a graveyard at midnight or spend the night in a spooky, abandoned house?  Explain your answer.
  • Complete a Halloween free-write assignment–Should trick-or-treating have an age limit? Why or why not? Write an opinion piece to defend your position.

Thursday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: “Therapy Thursday”–What is something that helps you calm down when you are sad/mad?  Extend your answer and give example.
  • Introduce Persuasive Unit–watch video, discuss purpose, complete activity.

Friday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  Free Topic Friday–Write about anything you want as long as it is appropriate and you don’t mind if I read it.
  • As a class, read and annotate a model persuasive essay.

8th Grade Advanced English

Monday
