  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  “Motivational Monday”–Kickstart your week by thinking about WHAT or WHO motivates you to do your BEST in everything you do.  Explain how this WHAT or WHO motivates you.
  • Complete the word study connections chart linked below.  The words are from your vocabulary.com “Persuasion and Argument” list.
  • Work on our two lists on Vocabulary.com– “Persuasion and Argument” due December 7 and “100 Words Every Middle Schooler Should Know” due December 14.

Tuesday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  Free Topic Friday–Write about anything you want as long as it is appropriate and you don’t mind if I read it.
  • We will create an organizer for our persuasive paper today.
  • Work on our two lists on Vocabulary.com.

Wednesday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  “Would You Rather Wednesday”– Would you rather be the Grinch or the Elf?  Explain your answer.
  • Watch a video on Flocabulary about writing effective thesis statements and answer the questions.
  • Participate in a class activity–identifying the most effective thesis statement

  • UIL Competition Day–no school

Friday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  Five Things Friday–What are five things you would love to get for Christmas?  Explain why.
  • Take notes on Thesis Statements/Claims in English notebooks.
  • Complete an assignment on writing effective thesis statements.
