  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: Mindset Monday–Now that we have finished our first nine weeks, what are specific things you can do to improve your next nine weeks’ performance?
  • Watch a video about the differences between the left and right brain.
  • Finish brain surveys and answer the following question:  How accurate do you think this survey is for you? How can this information about your brain help you?

  • Respond to the following journal prompt: “Two Ticket Tuesday”—If you had only two tickets to an event of your choice, what event would you choose, and who would you take with you? Explain.
  • Work on your digital task cards assigned last Friday for Word Study 2019-2. You should have a copy on your Google Drive already.

  • Work on Word Study List 2019-2 Digital Task Cards. 

Thursday, October 31

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: “Therapy Thursday”–What is something that helps you calm down when you are sad/mad?  Extend your answer and give an example.
  • Finish working on your Digital Task Cards and click the “Turn In” button.
  • Work on Vocabulary.com list Word Study 2019-2.

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: “Future Friday”–What are your dreams for the future?  What is your plan to make them happen?

  • Complete a Flocabulary assignment on Parts of a Sentence.
  • Complete the handout “Underlining Subjects and Predicates” and paste it in your English notebook.
  • Finish Vocabulary.com list Word Study 2019-1 and NoRedInk assignments.

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: “Topping Tuesday”~Choose an ice cream topping that best represents your personality.  Explain your choice.
  • Review for nine week’s exam tomorrow.

  • Respond to the following prompt in your Google writing journal– Title: “Would You Rather Wednesday”–Would you rather spend all night in a coffin in the middle of a graveyard or in a nice, comfortable bed in a spooky, abandoned house?
  • Complete your 1st Nine Week’s Exam. 

Thursday, October 17

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: “Three Things Thursday”~If you could sit at a table with any three people, who would it be and why?  Note: You have to choose one historical figure, one celebrity, and one living person.
  • Begin working on Word Study List 2019-2.

Friday, October 18

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: “Future Friday”–What are your dreams for the future?  What is your plan to make them happen?
  • Continue working on Parts of a Sentence:  Verbs and Verb Phrases.

Upcoming Quiz and Exam

October 10–Students will take a quiz this Thursday over Real-World Writing Purposes~you will have to match text excerpts to their appropriate purpose.

October 16–Students will take a nine-weeks exam next Wednesday over the following topics:  growth mindset topics, real-world writing purposes, parts of speech, and the vocabulary from Word Study List 2019-1.

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  “Tell Me About It Tuesday”~What is one thing you wish I knew about you?  Explain why.
  • Finish the RWWP~Writing for a Purpose assignment.  Share your writing with the people at your table, and make corrections as needed.
  • Work on the Vocabulary.com list–Word Study 2019-1.
