  • Finish Persuasive Ads group activity and present them.
  • Homework:  Finish Intro to Persuasive Techniques in Advertising assignment from last week.

  • Complete Mentor Sentences–Types of Phrases–Step One.
  • Take notes on Types of Phrases in English comp book–update the table of contents–complete Types of Phrases activity and discuss.

  • Respond to the following journal prompt in your Google journal:  Wise Words Wednesday–What does the following quote mean to you?  How can you apply it to your own life?
  • Begin working on Digital Task Cards for Word Study List #6.

Thursday

  • Complete Mentor Sentences–Types of Phrases–Step Two
  • Take notes on Logical Fallacies and complete activity in English comp book.  Watch video examples–identify the fallacies used.

  • Begin introduction to our Power of Persuasion unit–what makes words powerful?  How can we use language in a powerful way?
  • Watch persuasive speeches and discuss what makes them effective and powerful.

  • Participate in group activity–persuasive speech analysis
