  • Complete a review over punctuation using notes.
  • Continue researching our topic and record facts in our dialectical journal.

  • Watch a video about writing a persuasive claim.

  • Respond to the following journal prompt:  Wise Words Wednesday:  “You must never feel badly about making mistakes…as long as you take the trouble to learn from them.  For you often learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons.” ~Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth  Explain what you think this quote means in your own words.  How could the lesson of this quote be helpful to you?
  • Pick a hook from Tuesday’s notes and write an introduction, complete with bridge and thesis (in your notebook–highlight each part in a different color).

  • Respond to a journal prompt:   Therapy Thursday–What is the BEST way to cheer you up when you’re upset/angry?  Explain why.
  • Finish writing introductions.

  • Type a final copy of introduction on a new Google doc–title it “Introduction.”  Highlight each part of the introduction in a different color, and label what each color means.

  • Owners of paragraphs will then revise their paragraphs, using feedback from peers.

  • Take notes over transitions. They will go on the next LEFT blank page after sentence variety notes in our content section.
  • Identify transitions in a model expository paragraph.

 

Wednesday

  • Would you Rather Wednesday–Would you rather receive $1000 right now OR receive $50 a month for the rest of your life?
  • Revise your Digital Life paragraphs (incorporating suggestions from your group mates–or not). Label your final copy as such in your document.
  • Copy and paste your paragraph into Peg writing. Use the peer edit function before submitting it.
  • If you finish, you will complete activities in Peg as assigned.
