  • Finish notes from Friday over constructed responses (RACE).

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: Trading Tuesday–If you could trade lives with anybody for a day, who would it be and why?
  • Complete a grammar review packet.

Wednesday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title: Would You Rather Wednesday–Would you rather be the best player on a losing team or the worst player on a winning team?
  • Participate in Word Study Stations for Word Study List 1.

Thursday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  Thoughtful Thursday–If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
  • Work on a constructed response as a class–Focus on R (rewording the question), A (answering the question), and C (citing evidence to support your answer).

Friday

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily journal–Title:  Freewrite Friday–Write about anything you want as long as it is appropriate and you don’t mind if I read it.
  • Continue working on our class constructed response–Focus on E (explain your answer) and S (sum up your answer).

PreAP English

  • Finish setting up English notebooks–tabs, pockets, and baggies.
  • Review/discuss our English notebook guidelines and rubric.

  • Writing Assessment 2.0–write in Google Docs and Paste into PEG Writing program.

  • Participate in a snowball writing activity based on today’s eclipse.

Tuesday

  • Respond to and discuss a prompt on the board:  What did you find most interesting about the solar eclipse yesterday?
  • Begin to set up our English notebooks.
  • Participate in a scavenger hunt for class procedures and policies–paste in English notebook.

Wednesday

  • Respond to and discuss a prompt on the board:  What is the most exciting thing about a new year?
  • Discuss/cover expectations for English notebooks and paste them in the notebook.
  • Finish notebook set-up.
  • Begin first writing activity–create a heart map.

Thursday

  • Respond to and discuss a prompt on the board: What is the most frightening thing about a new school year?
  • Complete an expository writing screener on Moby Max.

 Friday

  • Respond to and discuss a prompt on the board:  What are your goals for this school year?
  • Finish heart maps in English notebook from Wednesday.
