Monday

  • Respond to the following journal prompt in your Google journal:  Mindset Monday–During this last week of the nine weeks and the week before spring break, it may be difficult to exercise self-control.  How can you keep yourself motivated to finish strong this nine weeks?
  • Finish No Red Ink from Friday–Phrases and Clauses diagnostic.
  • Work on Word Study 6 Choice Board–due tomorrow when you walk in.

Tuesday

  • Turn in your Word Study 6 Choice Board.
  • Complete the 3rd Nine Weeks Exam.

Wednesday

  • Respond to the following journal prompt in your Google journal:  What-Would-You-Do Wednesday–What would you do if Wifi never existed?
  • Complete Mentor Sentences Step #2–Sentence Stalking.

Thursday

  • Thoughtful Thursday–What does the following quote mean to you?  ”We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” –Albus Dumbledore Harry Potter  
  • Complete Mentor Sentences–finish Step #3–imitate mentor sentences.

Friday

  • Focused Free-write Friday:  Topic TBA

  • Begin introduction to our Power of Persuasion unit–what makes words powerful?  How can we use language in a powerful way?
  • Watch persuasive speeches and discuss what makes them effective and powerful.

  • Respond to the following journal prompt in your Google journal–Title: Would You Rather Wednesday–Would you rather be able to control the weather or talk to animals?
  • Participate in group activity–persuasive speech analysis
  • Finish No Red Ink lessons on subordinate conjunctions.

  • Complete the five sentence activity posted on Classroom–creating complex sentences–discuss as a class.
  • Complete quiz over subordinate conjunctions and relative pronouns.
